The Mystery of Being Human

to listen https://youtu.be/ko4P2moHyDs

The body:

Appearing like a solid entity

With arms and legs,

A trunk containing organs,

And a head.

But really, it’s made up of atoms,

that are mostly made up of … space.

Atoms created in the burning centre of suns exploding.

Stardust.

A body is also a liquid crystal,

Made up of water from deep space,

Bringing with it the memories of faraway places

And light.

A body is an intelligent creature,

Created by Earth, belonging to Earth, nurtured by Earth,

With its own needs and desires to thrive

On beautiful food, sunshine, laughter,

Dance, lengthy hugs,

and song.

And on deep rest,

Gazing into a fire,

And telling stories of other times and places.

The Isness:

That ineffable sliver of divinity,

A fractal of all that is holy,

A hologram of Love

An entity of light

Experiencing Life in this body,

Seeing the universe,

Itself,

From the vantage point of Separation

And thus being able to experience awe and wonder

At its own magnificence.

Able to meet other slivers of Self

In every other human, animal, plant, rock

The Earth herself,

To rejoice in the reunion.

Able to experience the vibrant aliveness

Of Life in a human body,

With hands that can express love and creativity,

With an infinite imagination,

With the sweet sound laughter,

The magnificence of sunrises and sunsets,

The softness of a pet’s fur,

And the majesty of trees.

The alchemy, the bridge: The Heart.

And where Body and Beingness meet,

The human heart beats,

Creating a vast field

With that soul’s unique song and frequency.

This heart, that is able to encompass

The most expansive love,

The deepest peace,

The most extraordinary beauty,

The most tender compassion and care,

As well as

The darkest despair,

The deepest grief,

The fiercest rage…

All at once.

This heart,

Who can feel another’s pain

Or joy

As if it were its own.

This heart that knows intimately

Every corner of the body,

Each of the body’s trillions of cells,

Feeding its vibrant aliveness with every beat.

This heart equally knows the far reaches of the stars

And other times and dimensions,

Other planes of reality,

And beyond time and space,

Source.

This precious, glorious, mysterious human heart.
